READ and Children’s Museum Host Book Fair!

Every child, parent, grandparent and friend needs a new book!  Maybe two, three or more!

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum and the READ Association of Saginaw County are excited to partner in hosting a Book Fair on Thursday, October 8, Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10, from 10 am to 4 pm each day at the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum (MMCM), 315 West Genesee Avenue in Saginaw. A large variety of books priced at $4.99 and up will be available for purchase from Usborne Books & More.  Usborne Books and More delivers educational excellence through a great product line for readers of all ages! Book purchases will support children’s literacy in the Great Lakes Region. READ and the Children’s Museum will receive $5 for every $10 spent on book purchases.

Shoppers may visit the Book Fair during posted hours at no charge, or bring the family along for Play and Learn family fun. MMCM admission is $7.50 per person, children under 2 are free. The $5.00 Day End Discount applies between 3 and 5 pm, Tuesday through Friday. Show your book purchase receipt and receive a discount coupon for your next visit to the Museum!

Books may also be ordered online beginning immediately and through October 10 by visiting and clicking on READ & Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum.  Books may be shipped to the MMCM for free or you may have books shipped directly to your address for an additional charge.

The locally published Z to A in the Great Lakes Bay book will also be available for purchase in the Museum Gift Shop.  The delightful, colorful book highlights over 70 locations and things to do in the communities that comprise the Great Lakes Bay Region. The book is a wonderful Community Resource Guide. Readers both young and young at heart will enjoy going on this alphabet adventure!   The retail price of the book is $12.

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum places priority on play and learn experiences through teamwork, creativity and curiosity for children from birth to 12 years of age. Special rates are available for groups who pre-schedule visits to the MMCM.  The MMCM is also an ideal location for field trips, scout troops, birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events. Annual memberships, with reciprocal benefits at 300 children’s museums nationwide, may be purchased by families who enjoy frequent visits.
