Thanks to a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs (MCACA) the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum and Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum are teaming up to provide outstanding interactive art experiences for students who visit the MMCM.
Regional, professional artists will bring their talent to the MMCM for children to observe, learn and practice. Each student will create a personal art object to keep. All materials are included in your field trip admission. Due to limited availability, sessions must be pre-scheduled with Play Educator Ashley McKibbin on or before August 31, 2013. Call 989-399-6626. Classes are limited to no more than 25 students. Each art activity is designed to meet the appropriate Michigan Standards and Benchmarks for Visual Arts. Educators can choose from the following Art Classes:
Sculpting – Sculpture
Design – Design Your Very Own Super Hero
Comics – How Comic Characters Tell a Story
Painting/2D – Colorful Landscapes
Ceramics – Ceramic Sculpture
The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is located at 315 West Genesee Avenue in Saginaw. Special rates are available for groups who pre-schedule visits to the MMCM. The MMCM is also an ideal location for play groups, scout troops, field trips, birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events. Annual memberships may be purchased by families who plan frequent visits.
