The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum in Saginaw has plenty of fun times planned for families who visit during the month of October. Silly Solar Stuff is the featured theme all month! Try Solar Printing, Jump for Joules, make and take a sun-catcher and Twirl the Solar Swivel! Children can also pick up all the fixings’ for creating a Solar S ‘more while supplies last!
Stop by the MMCM on Saturday, October 19 for our Halloween Preview! Wear your costume and enter the Best Costume Contest to win a pumpkin full of goodies! Enjoy a popcorn snack, stir up a batch of slime, play hide the bones in the aMaze or check out the face painting table! Children visiting on October 19 will receive a free Trick or Treat Bag and sticker.
Saturday, October 26 is Safety Day at the MMCM. Local Safety providers will share important information about keeping our children safe. Watch a police dog find hidden items in the MMCM Galleries, try Exercise Plinko and Safe Walking with the Pedestrian Signal.
Play and Learn workshops are planned on October 17, November 7 and 21, and December 5 and 19, 2013 from 10 – 11 am. Experts from the Great Start Collaborative will share valuable information about nutrition, social and emotional health and preschool readiness. These free, one hour presentations are aimed at parents and care givers of toddlers and preschool age children. Children will be supervised by experienced volunteers in the MMCM galleries. Refreshments will be served.
The MMCM is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, noon to 5 pm on Sunday and closed every Tuesday. Contact the MMCM 989-399-6626.
The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is located at 315 West Genesee Avenue in Saginaw. The MMCM places priority on teamwork, creativity and critical thinking through discovery-based learning for children from birth to 12 years of age. Special rates are available for groups who pre-schedule visits to the MMCM. The MMCM is also an ideal location for field trips, scout troops, birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events. Evening rentals are available. Annual memberships may be purchased by families who plan frequent visits.
