Children’s Museum Welcomes New Board Members and Grads

Congratulations are in order for employees of the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum!  Carla Ruppert earned a Bachelors of Social Work degree. Kara Brown, MMCM Play Educator, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts Education with K-12 Certification. Both ladies earned their degrees from Saginaw Valley State University. Angela Barris, President and CEO recently attended the Association of Children’s Museums Annual Conference in Indianapolis, IN.  A grant from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs provided partial funding for the experience.  While in Indianapolis, Mrs. Barris met with other Museum directors to compare best practices.

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum places priority on play and learn experiences through creativity and curiosity for children from birth to 12 years of age. Special rates are available for groups who pre-schedule visits to the MMCM.  The MMCM is also an ideal location for field trips, scout troops, birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events.  Evening rentals are available. Annual memberships, with reciprocal benefits at 300 children’s museums nationwide, may be purchased by families who enjoy frequent visits.
