Children’s Museum Selects President and CEO

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Emily Yeager as the President and CEO, effective February 3, 2016. Prior to accepting this position, Ms. Yeager served as the Public Awareness and Donor Relations Manager for the CAN Council Great Lakes Bay Region. In that role, she led the marketing department, developed web and Facebook communications, served as the coordinator for the recent Capital Campaign and year end appeal and was the project manager for the building expansion. She earned her bachelor’s degree at University of Michigan, Flint campus and a master’s degree at Northwood University. Emily Yeager is an active volunteer in several regional organizations including Hidden Harvest, the YMCA Camping Services Committee, St. John’s Lutheran School and Messiah Lutheran Church.

Ms. Yeager assumes the leadership role from Angela Barris who is stepping down after nine years as President and CEO. Since opening in 2008, over 304,000 visitors have enjoyed the MMCM’s ten, award winning, interactive galleries that present limitless opportunities for children to engage their curiosity and creativity to Play and Learn.

Located at 315 West Genesee Avenue, in Saginaw, the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is open from 9:30 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 pm on Sunday and closed every Monday. The MMCM places priority on Play and Learn experiences through creativity and curiosity for children, birth to 10 years of age. Special rates are available for groups who pre-schedule visits to the MMCM and Day Discounts apply every weekday after 3:00 pm.  The MMCM is also an ideal location for field trips, scout troops, birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events.  Evening rentals are available. Annual memberships, with reciprocal benefits at 300 children’s museums nationwide, may be purchased by families to enjoy frequent visits.
