Children’s Museum Offers Watercolor Painting Class

Have fun this summer learning to paint with watercolors!  Award winning artist, Rosemary Hayes, will teach watercolor basics to promising artists, age 7 and older, at the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum in Saginaw. This 5-week class will include painting basics like the color wheel, mixing colors, painting washes, composition and painting on wet or dry paper. Students will complete a watercolor painting by the end of each class.  Adults and children may enroll separately or together.

The watercolor painting class is scheduled on Fridays, from 10 am to noon, July 12, 19, 26, August 2 and 9, 2013. The cost of the class is $85 per person including all supplies; $75 per person for students who would like to purchase their own supplies. Ask for a supply list with your registration. MMCM members will receive a 20% discount for the class. Space is limited for this 5 week class so registration and pre-payment are required on or before Monday, July 8, 2013.

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is located at 315 West Genesee Avenue in Saginaw.  Children learn best at their own pace and direct, hands-on, interactive experiences are the most powerful method of learning!  Nine custom designed galleries featuring solar energy, the human body, art, automobiles, water and agriculture present familiar themes that will engage the imagination of children from birth to 12 years of age. Special rates are available for groups who pre-schedule visits to the MMCM.  The MMCM is also an ideal location for play groups, scout troops, field trips, birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events.  Annual memberships may be purchased by families who plan frequent visits. Business Benefits are offered for corporate sponsors.
