On Saturday, September 27, 2014, the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum will hold an Open House for teens, adults and families who are interested in volunteering at the MMCM. During the Open House, from 10:00 to 11:30 am, prospective volunteers may tour the nine interactive galleries, splash in the water table, roll out colorful play dough, play the parachute game and pump up some energy in the Solar Spot. Teens looking for community service hours will find the MMCM a perfectly playful destination to earn essential work experience. Families may sign up to volunteer together for special events like the Candy Free Egg Hunt, Day with Dad and Christmas in July. Adults may select the ideal volunteer assignment for educators in the new “2nd Graders are 1st Class” initiative. Current MMCM volunteers who recommend a new volunteer will be eligible to win a prize. Former MMCM volunteers are welcome to come back and re-enlist! Admission to the MMCM will be free for volunteers and applicants that day. Refreshments will be served.
