The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum recently added four pairs of automatic entry doors to improve access to the award winning Play and Learn facility in Saginaw. The new doors provide easy entry to the MMCM for visitors with infants in arms, toddlers in tow, managing adaptive devices, armloads of birthday party supplies or exiting with gifts! MMCM now offers safe, convenient access to all our guests. Without an automatic mechanism to open the doors, our patrons, youngsters and adults, particularly those with disabilities were greeted with a barrier at their very first contact!
The cost for this $41,000 important facility upgrade was shared by the Saginaw Community Foundation, the Frank N. Andersen Foundation, the Bay Area Community Foundation and the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation. Founded in 1984 the Saginaw Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life in Saginaw by linking donor interests with the community’s most pressing needs and promising opportunities. The MMCM board of directors, volunteers, staff, members and guest extend our thanks to the generous regional foundations that made the automatic door project installation possible.
