CHIX WHO MIX

Saginaw, MI, June 15, 2015 – Looking for a cool way to spend a warm evening?  Four area arts organizations are teaming up to bring Chix Who Mix to the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum in Saginaw for an evening of FUNdraising.  Thirty local Chix will serve up a banquet of beverages, including cocktails, non-alcoholic fruit and fizzy drinks, coffees and more. The chixologists are creating the delightful drinks, and the $20 “chixit” will include beverage tasting and light snacks.

Chix Who Mix will take place Thursday, July 16, 5 – 7 p.m. at the Children’s Museum, located at 315 W. Genesee, in Saginaw.  This second annual collaborative fundraiser is in support of the Children’s Zoo of Saginaw, Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum, Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission and the Saginaw Choral Society. Attendees will vote for the “People’s Choice Beverage,” “Best Themed Drink” and more. Tickets may be purchased at the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum or by phone at 989-399-6626.

Chix Who Mix is an over-21 event and will include an evening of great music with Noel Howard and Honesty Elliott. There will be food available for purchase and release your inner child while you explore the nine hands-on gallery exhibits and play a game or two.

The Chix are mixin’ for the following organizations:

Children’s Zoo of Saginaw – The Zoo, now in its 86th year, is home to more than 150 animal residents. In 2009, the Zoo took a step toward a higher standard for animal care by becoming accredited by the Association of Zoo’s and Aquariums (AZA).

Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum – As the region’s only hands-on museum designed for children under 12, kids can find a constantly changing array of Play and Learn activities in nine galleries aligned to the Michigan school curriculum.  The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is a jewel in the region’s cultural experience.

Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission – It was founded in 1986 on a simple and powerful premise: that the arts enrich lives, expand minds and form a vital thread in the fabric of a community. Through leadership, education, advocacy and funding, the Arts Commission promotes and supports artists and artistic organizations in the area.

Saginaw Choral Society – Now in its 80th season, the 80+ members of the Choral Society, led by interim Music Director Jeremiah Kraniak, entertains and excites audiences with classical, contemporary and popular choral concerts at Saginaw’s historic Temple Theatre.
