April Family Activities at the Children’s Museum

Attention families with stay-cation plans for Spring Break 2014! The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum has plenty of fun-filled activities to entertain and amuse children during the break. Joel Tacey will be at the MMCM on Wednesday, April 2 at 1:00 pm with his famous Juggling Workshop. Learn the fine art of juggling scarves and balls from the expert.  The always popular Bounce House will be back in the house from Monday, March 31 through Sunday, April 6, 2014.

Children who register for MMCM Spring Break Camp on Wednesday, April 2, will learn juggling, create a mosaic stepping stone, plant a tiny biome, and bounce in the Bounce House along with gallery play time.  The new A-Mazing Airways exhibit will challenge MMCM guests to catch the flying balls and scarves!  Check the MMCM website for camp registration forms and sign up early!

On Saturday, April 5, Happy Bear will be visiting the MMCM to promote the All About Me theme.  Stop by the giant teeth and collect a new toothbrush, the Saginaw County Health Department will share nutrition news using the My Plate poster.

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum in Saginaw is hosting a candy-free, fun, musical, arts and craft day for children up to age 12 on Saturday, April 12, 2014.  The special admission price of $10.00 per child, $7.00 per adult includes a visit with the Easter Bunny, egg hunt from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, spring time crafts, face painting, and admission to the MMCM for the day.  Musical entertainment will be provided by musicolessons at 1:00 pm.  Tickets are $12.00 per child and $10 per adult on the day of the event. Special discounts for MMCM members.

Calling All Science Buffs!  On Saturday, April 26, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm families can register to attend the CMU-GEM Family Science Workshop at the MMCM.  Families with children pre-K to grade 5 will practice hands-on, easy-does-it science. Cooperative learning activities develop problem solving, questions and communication skills for learning science.  RSVP attendance plans on or before Monday, April 21, 2014, for this Family Science workshop.  Limited scholarships are available.

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum is located at 315 West Genesee Avenue in Saginaw.  The MMCM places priority on teamwork, creativity and critical thinking through discovery-based learning for children from birth to 12 years of age. Nine interactive galleries inspire hands-on play. Special rates are available for groups who pre-schedule visits to the MMCM.  The MMCM is also an ideal location for field trips, scout troops, birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events.  Evening rentals are available.
